Volcano Rescue Team - July 3, 2010 Rescue
July 3, 2010 . Congratulations to Mount St. Helens Volcano Rescue Team on a successful mission.
About 5pm July 3, 2010 climber was glissading (Sliding) down from the Mount St. Helens summit at the
6600' level. Crashed and burned. With an injured side the climber could not descend on her own. She
was part of a climbing party of 9 and they called 911 and the Mount St. Helens Volcano Rescue swung
into action. By 10:00 pm they were all successfully off the Mountain. It was a long day for many of the
Volcano Resue team and the Skamania County Deputy as they had just come from a rescue of a hiker
that slipped off the trail and fell near the Lewis River Falls. Photos courtesy of Bryan Leake, North
